Our extensive experience with computational tools allows us to recommend the best tool to solve our clients' problems. Sometimes, the best tool for the job is experience, a calculator, a pen, and paper. Other projects might involve spinning up an HPC cluster on Amazon Web Services. We can see through the chaff and avoid needless billable hours when expertise and experience points to a quick solution, resulting in a lower invoice for our customer.

The emergency slides in modern transport aircraft must always deploy in an emergency but must never deploy in flight. CRM Engineering Services was tasked with validating the advanced composite structure containing the emergency slide off the wing. The structure supporting electronics modules in aircraft and spacecraft must be carefully designed to withstand a harsh shock and vibration environment.

Reamers are downhole cutting tools used to enlarge and smooth out the drifts, correct crooked holes, restore under-gauged holes or amend hole irregularities that could cause complication or delay for the drill string. This reamer design uses fluid circulation to rotate the reamer. In order to better understand the performance of this tool, a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model was built in which the reamer rotates from the impulse of the directional fluid flow.Since this simulation uses a rotating Arbitrary Mesh Interface (AMI), a transient solution is required.

Our client requested that we provide expert opinion on the effect of non-functioning counterweight heater coil supports. The inter-heater system was expanded a few years prior to our engagement to increase capacity. The new interheater was very similar to the existing interheater and was designed so that the manifold length and number of coils was doubled.

A manufacturer of an injection molded planter bin wanted to verify the stands on the bin subject to wind loading. The planter bin is intended for use on apartment/condominium balconies for growing vegetables or flowers. The manufacturer of a pet kennel was concerned that if the kennel (with a pet inside) was dropped, the door would pop off, releasing the pet onto an airport taxiway. Some pet owners like their dogs in their bed, but the bed is too tall for the dog to jump onto. So a solution is a step stool place near the bed.
