Your Trusted Resource for Engineering Advocacy and Professional Development
Founded in 1939, the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers (MnSPE) serves as the leading voice for licensed professional engineers across Minnesota. As an affiliate of the National Society of Professional Engineers, we provide accessible professional development opportunities, advocate for Professional Engineer licensure, and support the future STEM workforce through outreach initiatives. Our membership spans diverse engineering disciplines, including Professional Engineers, career engineers, early career professionals, and students. Governed by a volunteer board of directors elected by members, we operate through nine geographic chapters and collaborate with committees to address industry needs. Our partnerships include Minnesota MATHCOUNTS, a program promoting middle school mathematics since 1983, and the MnSPE Foundation, a 501c3 organization offering scholarships and educational outreach.

We prioritize member-driven initiatives, ensuring our advocacy and programs align with the evolving demands of the engineering profession. Our FE and PE exam preparation resources, developed in partnership with Kaplan/PPI, empower aspiring engineers to achieve licensure. Through webinars, continuing education, and networking events, we foster professional growth and community engagement. Our volunteer-led structure ensures leadership opportunities for members at all career stages. Committed to transparency and ethical standards, we maintain a strong focus on advancing engineering excellence and public safety in Minnesota.
