Established in 1973, our firm is a small family owned business focusing on the design of buildings and special structures. We have designed all types of Commercial Buildings as well as Single-Family and Multi-Family Buildings. Institutional Buildings have included College and University Buildings, Municipal Buildings and Houses of Worship. One of our specialties is Monumental Stairs.

Our office has maintained an open door for service to Architects, Owners, and Developers. Participation in the design of the smallest house addition is not uncommon, and is often done in short design sessions by Mr. Cowen with the Architect or Designer at this office. We also do "house calls". Projects have also been quite substantial in size.

Mr. Cowen has been sole proprietor of Cowen Associates, Structural Consulting Engineers, serving the Architectural community in the design of Buildings and Special Structures. Services include the development of Structural Contract Documents and performance of Contract Administration, as well as various Investigative and Forensic Studies.
