Taitem Engineering, PC, is based in Ithaca, New York and specializes in sustainability, energy efficiency and engineering design and energy and sustainability consulting. Founded in 1989, Taitem's clients include public and private entities, and its projects include buildings in all sectors, including commercial, education, multifamily, industrial, and healthcare. In 2013, Taitem earned B-Corporation status, meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

Taitem's main offices are in a "recycled" nineteenth-century downtown building that is LEED Platinum certified and on track to perform as a net-zero building. Among the building's many green features are an ultra-efficient air-conditioning system invented by Taitem's founder, a geothermal system, rooftop solar thermal and solar PV systems, an electric vehicle charging station, and abundant covered bicycle parking.

Taitem has decades of experience providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and structural design services across multiple sectors including commercial, industrial, higher-education and multi-family buildings. Our design team collaborates closely with our Energy + Sustainability team of Certified Energy & Carbon Reduction Managers, Passive House & LEED-certified professionals, and commissioning agents to deliver continuous insight into a buildings energy performance throughout the design process.
