Brookings Institute 1755 and 1775 Mass Ave: As Commissioning Specialist, I helped define project scope, set up time lines, and negotiate bids; led pre-bid walk-through; reviewed bids for project; conducted interview meetings with prospective firms. I provided construction management services for the replacement of two electrical switch gear units at 1755 and 1775 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20036-2103. Arlington Central Library, Arlington, VA: As Commissioning Engineer, I wrote the technical specifications for providing a complete photovoltaic (PV) solar power system. Provided construction management services related to RFP creation, product selection, solar systems construction, and review of testing requirements for Arlington County's photovoltaic (PV) project. Arlington Cultural Center Commissioning, Arlington, VA: As Electrical System Commissioning Engineer, I reviewed installation of power and day-lighting systems for LEED compliance with USGBC's Silver prerequisite and advanced commissioning credit. Boeing H47, Building 3-61 Factory Building, Ridley Park, PA: Electrical Commissioning Agent I Provide LEED Enhanced Commissioning Services for the ongoing projects to renovate Boeing's Center South Campus in Prospect Park, PA. The center south campus includes the factory/assembly building, central utility plants, maintenance shops, testing facilities and office space supporting the production of the Chinook Helicopter.
Commissioning services to be provided include: provision of the commissioning plan; design review; drafting of commissioning specifications; shop drawing and construction submittal review; provision of prefunctional checklists; site observations during construction and equipment start-up; administering of TAB verification and functional performance testing; review of O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and other record documentation; 10-month warranty visit with O&M personnel; and provision of the commissioning record and systems manual. Commissioning services are being provided for the initial projects planned by Boeing to renovate the Center South Campus of their facility in Prospect Park, PA and will include: Building 3-61 H-47 Focus Factory Renovation, Building 3-62 H-47 Focus Factory Renovation (Pre-flight/Shop/Office Building), Building 4-14 New Central Utilities Building and a review of the overall energy strategies for the Center South Master Plan. Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink, Purcellville, VA: As Commissioning Specialist, I preformed constructability review of electrical plans to ensure proper installation of all electrical components and systems to meet outlined specifications. Verified if change orders would be needed for project. Performed commissioning of all electrical systems during installation to ensure all electrical power, lighting, and emergency power were installed according to specifications. I provided project and construction management support to the owner's staff responsible for the repairs and alterations of the town's skating rink building.
The project involved the timber structure, originally constructed in 1903, in recent years it has been run by the local fire department who rented the space for public and private use. In the process of planning some repairs and alterations to the building, a structural engineer involved in a study of the building questioned the structural soundness of the building in its existing condition. Upon identification of structural integrity issues, the Town immediately began the process of repairing the structure with the intent of resuming use of the facility as soon as possible. Of additional importance was the Town's intent to have the structure added to the Historic Registry. The total construction value was $1,597,400.
Eastern Montgomery Elementary School Commissioning Services, Elliston, VA: As Commissioning Specialist, I provided pre-construction and construction phase construction management and building commissioning services. I provided pre-construction and construction phase construction management and building commissioning services to Montgomery County Public Schools. The project involved the construction of two new Montgomery County Public elementary schools. Both schools are approximately 106,000-square feet on approximately 20 acres of land. This project is for the first of the two schools, Elliston Elementary School. The project includes K-5 classrooms, cafeteria, gymnasium, library, and associated spaces. The total construction value was $18,600,000.
Fauquier County High School, Warrenton, VA: Commissioning Agent I provided LEED enhanced commissioning services including design review, as prescribed in LEED 2009 for Schools New Construction and Major Renovations by the U.S. Green Building Council. Fauquier County Public Schools constructed a new 89,700-square-foot addition to Fauquier High School, demolished two wings totaling 50,000 square feet, and renovated additional existing space totaling 7,000 square feet in three continuous phases. The project was designed to achieve LEED Gold certification and included features such as: geothermal HVAC, a reflective roof, "dark skies" exterior lighting, heat recovery air units, indoor lighting controls, and an energy management system. The total construction value was $25,000,000.
Krasnow Institute Phase II, Fairfax, VA: As Electrical Commissioning Agent, I provided shop drawing review, performed site observation, and oversaw emergency power system installation and testing. Commissioning Services - 100% design CD phase through occupancy phase. I provided commissioning services for George Mason University Krasnow Institute II Addition. The building is a 15,000 square foot vivarium and laboratory addition to the existing building. The total construction value was $8,800,000.
Pet worth Branch Library, District of Columbia Public Libraries, Washington, DC: As Commissioning Specialist, I performed commissioning of electrical systems to meet National Electrical Code (NEC) and job specifications. I provided commissioning services for design, construction and post-construction phases for the library renovation project. Services included preparation of commissioning plan, submittal review, development of pre-functional checklists, construction visits and reports, development and execution of functional performance tests, review of O&M Manuals, preparation of commissioning record and post-construction warranty review. Price's Fork Elementary School, Blacksburg, VA: As Commissioning Specialist, I reviewed and verified change orders and the cost associated. I provided construction management services including change order review and evaluation, CPM scheduling analysis, project management support, program budget controls, and on site construction project inspection. The Project involves a one-story, 106,000-square-foot elementary school on approximately 20 acres of land. The school provides pre-K through fifth grade classrooms, cafeteria, a full size gymnasium, library, and alternate learning and support spaces. The project features pitched aluminum roofs, curved aluminum roofs, and is designed with key green features to reduce energy costs. The total construction value was $15,600,000.

Purcellville Town Hall, Purcellville, VA: I Provide project management services for the Purcellville New Town Hall renovations. The Town of Purcellville purchased an unused Baptist Church to convert it into the Purcellville New Town Hall. This is the third task for MBP with the first task being a property condition assessment and the second task being project management of hazardous material removals. The total construction value was $1,650,000.
St. Albans Athletic Field, Washington, DC: As Commissioning Specialist, I performed constructability review of electrical plans to ensure proper installation of all electrical components and systems to meet outlined specifications. Verified if change orders would be needed for the project. I provided a constructability (peer) review of the 100% CDs for phase one of a two phase project: demolition and construction. Follow on tasks included constructability review for phase two and pre-construction, construction, and post-construction construction management services. The project involved a two-phased demolition and reconstruction of an existing athletic field complex on an 11-acre site.
The new complex consisted of a new outdoor swimming pool, track and field facility, baseball field, and seven tennis courts incorporating a mile of cast-in-place retaining walls. The project included the relocation of an underground primary electrical feed, 60,000-cubic-yards of (earthwork) cut, and 40,000-cubic-yards of fill. The total construction value was $1,650,000.
Student Union Building, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA: As Commissioning Specialist, I performed commissioning services during the design, construction, acceptance, and occupancy phases of the project. The project involved a new, four-story, 65,000-square-foot addition for an existing Student Union Building. During construction, renovations within the existing facility were performed in three phases. Approximately 30,000-square feet of the existing building was renovated. Walter Reed Hospital, Washington DC: As a Lead Electrician I performed design and installation of new main 13,800 volt switch gear system feeding base. Performed commissioning on a new $110 million electrical system including 13,800 volt switch gear and secondary gear. Provided quality control of work being performed on all switch gear installation. Insured all work was done in accordance with OSHA and military guide lines.
Los Angeles International Airport, Los Angeles, CA: As Lead Tester and commissioning specialist. Performed installation and lay out of $210 million electrical systems, which included CCTV, data, and security systems. In addition, created as-built drawings and maintained daily reports.
Vandenberg Air Force Base, Lompoc, CA: As Lead Foreman, performed plan overview on electrical systems and engineering with installation of work being performed. Performed testing and commissioning $23 million upgrade of main switch gear and emergency power systems. Reviewed and commissioned main electrical power, emergency power with battery backup, and security systems. In addition, performed installation of solar panels for system testing to verify system would be able to supply emergence power for critical system if main power system failed.
New Lompoc Hospital, Lompoc, CA: As a key reviewer and installer, installed lay out and testing of a new $3.2 million main electrical power system feeding the hospital. Performed plain review and commissioning of generators and low volt DC systems.
Santa Barbara High School, Santa Barbara, CA: As a Lead Electrician performed the installation, testing, and commissioning of $500,000 electrical lighting control, data, communication, and security systems. The project involved a $115 million renovation and a $93 million addition to an existing 215,000-square-foot, two-story, open form high school.
Santa Barbara Hospital, Santa Barbara, CA: As Electrician, performed review of electrical engineering, lay out and installation of $136 million emergency generator and UPS battery backup systems. Performed main switch gear review and power demands factors. Laid out and installed electrical systems, tested all power supplies. Performed testing, start-up, and commissioning of main and secondary electrical systems.

County Government Building, Los Angeles, CA: Checked and verified installation was done according to manufacturer's specifications, checked inverters, charging systems, mounting points, battery systems. PG&E Solar Energy Project, Mojave Desert, California: When needed, helped commissioned the solar systems in the Mohave Desert to insure installation was done following the client's and manufacturer's systems requirements.
