I-90 Reconstruction, Client: New York State Thruway Authority, Erie County, New York
Served as lead highway designer for $106M, 52-lane miles of pavement reconstruction and rehabilitation encompassing a 5-mile test segment of unbonded concrete overlay, bridge rehabilitation, shoulder widening, sideslope safety improvements, minimization of wetland impacts, significant maintenance and protection of traffic, and development of offsite wetland mitigation. Identified existing roadway conditions and deficiencies including roadway pavement, features, geometry, typical sections, roadside grading, and bridge clearances for project design report and plans. Assisted with mitigation of deficiencies, modeled, and staged the construction of all proposed highway improvements while minimizing impact to Federal and State wetlands.

• Contributed directly to on time / significantly below budget project delivery.
• Utilized MicroStation & Inroads to create complex highway DTM’s for roadway construction and quantity take-offs.

Genesee Riverway Trail & Pedestrian Bridge, Client: City of Rochester, Rochester, New York
Served as Lead Designer for the $6M design and development for the 2-mile northerly extension of the Genesee Riverway Trail and Pedestrian Bridge project.
• Slashed total project costs by $2.5M, through an innovative design concept for the 3,572 foot-long pedestrian bridge over the Genesee River Turning Basin, and a new land-based trail, 3,406 foot in length, including ADA accessible river approach ROW acquisition and extensive landscaping.
• American Public Works Associations “2006 Transportation Project of the Year” Award ($2-$10 million category).

Interstate 86/ U.S. Route 15 (future I-99) interchange, Client: NYSDOT, Town of Erwin, Steuben County, New York
Served as Designer for the $137M I-86/US 15 Interchange Reconstruction Project for NYSDOT including interchange reconfiguration & reconstruction, 3-level bridge configuration, 5 major river crossings, railroad bridge replacement, and reconstruction of 25+ interstate / local roadway lane miles. Utilized AASHTO and NYSDOT guidelines to develop / review both horizontal and vertical alignments for 14 design alternatives and multiple sub-alternatives for interstate and local access roads. Realigned interstate mainline and existing exit and entrance ramps creating new ramps, frontage roads and local access roads, infrastructure facilities and rail lines. Served as technical liaison among highway, survey, environmental, structural, and traffic departments within Stantec, with Norfolk Southern Railroad, multiple sub-consultants, and federal / state / local agencies.

• NYSDOT has been presented the prestigious America’s Transportation Award from the Northeast Association of State Transportation Officials (NASTO).
• Contributed to the delivery of an accurate comprehensive set of roadway plans, enabling contractor to construct the project as per plan with minimal deviation during construction.

Antony Henday Drive SE Ring Road, Client: Alberta Transportation, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Served as Lead Designer for the Stantec share of the $493M design & development of 14km of new Highway 216 loop road surrounding City of Edmonton, Alberta’s first P3 transportation project, including 2 interchanges, 6.5km of 8 lane freeway, and 6 structures. Contributed to development of multiple design packages including geometry, maintenance and protection of traffic, geotechnical grading, drainage, interchange detail plans, signing and pavement marking plans, and survey reports for electronic transfer to construction equipment.

Campus Ring Road, Client: Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York
Served as Lead Designer for fast-track project encompassing 2.5 miles of campus ring road reconstruction / rehabilitation with open / enclosed drainage system improvements. Gathered record drawings and converted site basemapping from AutoCAD to Microstation. Worked closely with client and design engineer to create pavement condition study. Finalized horizontal and vertical alignments with superelevation for both reconstruction and rehabilitation pavement sections. Created and manipulated existing / proposed 3D models for project cross sections. Reviewed support team drainage improvement designs to ensure minimal impact on surrounding wetlands. Reviewed, verified, and rectified utility conflicts to address extensive draining / lighting improvements.

ABC Highway Improvement Project, Client: Ministry of Transport and Works, St. Michaels, Barbados, WI
Served as lead highway designer in the design for the $60 million upgrade of the ABC Highway in Barbados. Approximately 9.3km of the ABC Highway upgraded from two lanes to four lanes, including the construction of two new lanes, modification/installation of seven roundabouts and associated drainage work.
• Coordinated remote collaboration among offices including Rochester, Albany, and Barbados.
• Created final DTM’s for geotechnical grading (GPS) and survey reports.
• Designed horizontal and vertical locations for 69 KVA buried electric Transmission Lines.

Construction Inspector

Worked closely with Crane Hogan to identify areas of structurally unsound concrete to be repaired. Observed the tensioning and installation of structural post-tension support cables. Directed and documented slump testing of concrete by CME.

Road Reconstruction Projects – Winton Road, Browncroft Blvd. & Pennsylvania Ave., Client: City of Rochester, Rochester, New York
Worked with contractors and subcontractors in all phases of full depth reconstruction and widening of existing roadways and appurtenances. Observed the installation of roadway pavement, curbs, sidewalks, traffic signals, overhead sign structures, electric conduit, water mains, tapping sleeve and valves, lighting and drainage.
