In 1909, when Hans Von Unwerth opened his engineering office in Kansas City, it was a time of change for engineering. Modern techniques and structural innovations were changing the skylines of our cities. Buildings were growing and so was Kansas City. The local population would top a quarter million by 1910.
Each day artists, bankers, doctors, educators, students and shoppers across the Kansas City metropolitan area work and play in structures designed by Structural Engineering Associates, Inc (SEA). Our projects include downtown landmarks, suburban schools and metropolitan arts centers. We have designed major medical centers, world-renowned museums and world headquarters for major corporations.
The professionals at SEA bring their knowledge of efficient construction methods and long-term materials performance to every project. Our work can been seen throughout the Kansas City Metropolitan area, encompassing a variety of sizes and types including office buildings, parking structures, retail centers, municipal facilities, schools and hospitals.
SEA client design services cover a wide variety of project types and project deliveries. The largest projects have traditionally had SEA interacting with an architect lead design team. SEA has led design teams and has also worked on both design build and construction management project deliveries. Since each architect and owner have their own corporate culture, SEA finds that each project develops its own project culture.
