Do not use if you are not a government body, they forget to mention that as it shows how they work with private parties. They wont go to court for you if the state is involved but may still take your checks. They told me they don't work with issues having to do with public agencies, keep in mind all of your Property's and homes are on public lands and taxable so your at risk not knowing this.good luck.

VERY DISAPPOINTED with my experience with Nelson Geotechnical! I hired NGA to perform an infiltration test for our home addition project. We recieved our report from NGA approximately 3-4weeks after the testing was completed. Part of their original scope included "Provide recommendations for infiltration system installation, as needed." I understood this as they would provide & approve a recommened system needed for the infiltration.

When I reached out to NGA to provide the infiltration system design they responded that a civil engineer would need to design the infiltration system. I found this statement to be false as King County has an infiltration manual which includes 3 approved designs for infiltration. I chose a design from the manual & submitted it to our city in which they responded needing an approval letter from Nelson due to the language they included in their original report which reads : "We recommend that NGA be retained to review the design and provide monitoring and consultation services during construction." I found it strange that an already King County approved design needs their approval?

I reached out to NGA & they provided the approval letter. Where this goes even further down is a month later I received an invoice for $312.50 for the letter. Never did NGA state an additional fee was required & I understood that this fell under their original scope for "recommending infiltration system installation". I expressed my displeasure & heard nothing for 6months.

I then recieved an email stating if I did not pay they would send me to collections. Overall I do not recommend using NGA as they seem to be a company who has figure out a way to keep their fees coming based on their report language. These are the companies that give construction a bad name for their constant change order fees which may not be needed or should be all part of an upfront conversation.

Would highly recommend, extremely pleased. We hired Nelson Geotechnical for a walk through evaluation of our property regarding slope stability and erosion. Carston was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and it's great to work with a professional who clearly enjoys what they do. He helped us understand all the documentation and reports available, and made some great recommendations to go along with his observations. Would recommend their services to any homeowner who'd like to be in the know about the ground underneath and around their house!

We had a less than desired experience working with Nelson Geotechnical. We hired Nelson Geotechnical Associates to provide geotech engineering for a foundation project at one of my rental properties. After sending a request for a quote, it took 5 weeks just to get on the schedule, plus another few weeks just to have someone come out for a quote. It took another 6 weeks to receive the proposal, and another 3 after that to schedule the drill work for core samples.

During the core sample drilling, Nelson Geotechnical cut a sewer line, which caused an additional $4k repair that Nelson did not take ownership of and we had to pay for, despite it being their fault. Overall, I think we were a small dollar amount client and as such did not receive as much support as we otherwise would have.
