Liftech Consultants Inc. has provided structural engineering services since 1964. McKay International Engineers merged into Liftech in 2022 and has provided mechanical and electrical engineering services since 1969. Our experience includes the design of cranes, wharves, floats, buildings, heavy lift systems, and other specialized systems. We have special expertise in the design of container handling cranes and other custom heavy equipment, including design of dynamically loaded steel structures, high duty cycle winch and rail machinery, and mobile heavy equipment power, control, and automation systems.
Services
Our founding principals were instrumental in the design of the world's first container cranes, and Liftech has been instrumental in the conceptualization and development of hundreds of cranes since then. We have designed cranes and crane systems for most of the world's container crane manufacturers.
In early 2022, McKay and Liftech combined forces to create a full-service entity providing mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering services for our clients. McKay will continue to operate as a subsidiary of Liftech until we have fully integrated our teams to provide synergistic and creative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Mr. Soderberg oversees the technical and contractual aspects of Liftech's projects in addition to his design work. He is experienced in the design, review, repair, and modification of a variety of structural and crane related systems including wharves and piers, container handling cranes, and bulk loader structures.
Liftech has close ties to the community and a strong commitment to supporting local programs. Our staff is encouraged to participate in local non-profit museums, the local zoo, and performing arts organizations, with an annual benefit allowance for membership dues. We participate in The New School's Kids to Work Day, whereby a group of students spend the better part of a day at our offices learning what structural engineers do.
