We wanted to have dedicated circuits for our microwave and garage refrigerator. The communication was awesome from the time I contacted Hilscher Clark to the estimator and finally the gentlemen that came and installed everything. Will definitely be using them for our next project.

Wow! I really cannot give this company enough praise for the level of professionalism I experienced starting with my initial call to their office. all the way through to the actual electrical work performed by both Pat and Tom. The receptionist was courteous and relayed my call and concerns appropriately in a timely manner. My return callback from Ben was equally professional and courteous.

The actual electrical service performed by Pat and Tom far surpassed my expectations of what I thought good service would consist of. While my original request was to have a 200 amp main breaker replaced in our panel, I was in the middle of a DIY project of attempting to install a whole house surge protector. So VERY GLAD I left my electrical needs to the professionals for a variety of reasons.

In addition to recommending and installing the proper 2 pole 30 amp circuit breaker for my whole house surge protector, Pat observed a number of issues with my main power line drop coming from the street. The head was poorly secured, not sealed properly, AND the neutral wire had a number of strands broken which can create not only dimming lights but also can damage house appliances and equipment should it become completely detached.

The leaking around the wire harness can result in significant damage to your panel and/or breakers. In summary, if you have ANY electrical issues with your residence, I highly recommend calling Hilscher-Clarke Residential (formerly Wolgamott Electric Col). They are courteous, friendly, fast, and professional. Pat in particular went far beyond my expectations which I was happy for as I know it saved me significant potential electrical issues in the future. Jeff Gray Canton, Ohio

The work performed was fine. Our electrician was on-time, friendly and got the job done. Please be aware as a customer that the estimates are completely misleading. Do not make your decision based on an estimate alone. This company likes to give you the hourly rate of their worker to come out (cost of labor). Then tack on a line item of materials (expected). What's not expected are the costs that follow. There's a hidden cost of "overhead".

For me, this was $60 and includes gas for the trucks and any tools that are needed. Then when it's all tallied up, they hit you with another 10% fee for their "profit margin" -- meaning, what they want the company to earn on top of the job. I have never in all my years in business or dealing with other business, seen a company line item their company financials and bill the customer for it.

Do that behind the scenes and factor it into the hourly rate, or be transparent up front and mention that to your customer. I ended up paying $105 on top of the estimate due to these add-ons. I have no issues paying my invoice. Make no mistake, these are actual costs any business has. The way this company goes about billing and collecting for these comes off extremely shady and misleading.

Especially when you're a customer with options on who to give your business. I called several electricians for estimates before choosing these guys, and made that decision off of the estimate and hourly rate given. @Company: Take your current hourly rate and multiply it by 1.1%. Mention material costs and give a "ballpark" (you should know this based on the job type), and then slap a flat fee associated to making the appointment (for fuel and such).

Give the customer an accurate understanding of the cost associated with hiring you. We do not care what your employee makes per hour. What's the point of a customer estimate if you're only going to estimate the company's cost of labor? Oh. and the lady on the phone when I called to ask about this scoffed at me for inquiring about the 10% fee (as though I had never heard of a profit margin). I live in a large housing development in this area. I'll make sure my neighbors know to check elsewhere for their electric needs. You can thank the scoff for that.
