We apply a systematic disciplined method to product design and development and manage iterative activities in order to “schedule innovation”. This approach lets us to identify for our clients the opportunities to develop technology, rather than just apply it, and to manage the calendar durations of the activity, and to plan contingencies to address the failure of development to arrive at solutions. Market-driven realities and deadlines are not compromised (trade show cycles, product model year releases, product line obsolescence, competitor activity) by the fickleness of iterative experimentation. This method has been developed by participating in projects for the US military and other clients who are extremely sensitive to the delivery schedules of their end-items, and is continually challenged internally.
Hays Engineering has designed, manufactured and implemented a number of custom manufacturing devices, machines, tooling, fixtures and sub-assemblies. These products range from robotic end effectors and tool changer / holder (multiple end-of-arm tools on a single robot with the ability to change tools mid-program) devices to rolling and forming equipment (angle rollers, fan ring rollers, channel rollers) to welding fixtures to custom hand-held equipment and tools. We support our customer’s in-house resources with expertise and experience outside the normal scope of their core skills and experience.
Hays Engineering has participated in a number of product development projects for a variety of clients ranging from large companies to individual entrepreneurs. Product development involves identification of applicable codes and standards and assurance of adherence, due diligence in identifying IP protection schemes and methods including patents, branding and trade-marking. We have relationships with a lot of entities to offer insight into the financing of projects, which is often the constraint imposed on a good business idea.
