As Globetrotters' in-house architectural studio, it is GEC Design Group's belief that the quality and character of the built environment has a direct and tangible benefit to the quality of life of a building's occupants as well as that of the surrounding community. We provide design services for new facilities, retrofits and renovations of existing facilities, and restoration and preservation of historic buildings.

I had an amazing internship opportunity which confirmed my passion about a career in technology. The technology division of GEC was impressive. The work we did was often innovative and included the use of automated software deployment. I found myself coming to work and enjoying very hands on and involved tasks that often entailed very career based learning.
During my time at GEC, my colleagues were nothing short of professional and extremely helpful and I really enjoyed working with the GEC Technology team throughout the summer. 5 Star Internship!

I wanted to leave my review of my positive experience working for Globetrotters. Globetrotters is a prestigious Chicago based firm that has a long history and stories success. GEC has enjoyed their success because of their core belief in their people. They are resourceful and utilize their seasoned staff and employ a diverse workforce that they empower to take ownership of project success.
They use innovation and creativity to solve complex issues when the need arises. They were always open to hearing my input and considering my thoughts on project approach and were open to change. From day 1, the ownership believed in me and my career development. I joined GEC while pursuing my Civil Engineering degree. They understood the importance of my education and were flexible to the extent possible to allow me to achieve my dream of becoming a civil engineer.
I gained invaluable experience that allowed me to work on some amazing projects of both local and national signifigance with really great mentors who had really great experience both in the private and government sector. Post-grad, I found that I was able to advance quickly based on my work performance. I started as a projeject engineer, advanced to project manager, and eventually became a Sr.
Civil Transportation Engineer. I had the opportunity to work on large civil projects at airports, roadways, and design for various site developments. Eventually, I was involved in business development for the firm and was actively involved with pursuing new consulting contracts which was really exciting. I really felt part of the team there. It was tough decision to leave GEC for a government opportunity that arose, but I feel I owe a lot of my career development to GEC and wouldn't be where I am today without their support and guidance. I would highly recommend working for this firm.
