Gauthier, Alvarado & Associates was founded in 1975 on the strength of a single idea. That architects, engineers, and planners under one roof, working together, all equal and important, would create a company stronger than its peers and buildings of superior quality and value. The question is, when an architect in Boston can videoconference with a plumbing engineer in Bangalore over a cloud-shared model, is there still a value to having the trades under one roof?Certainly, developments in technology have meant we're not the only ones anymore who can coordinate during a project instead of at the end.

Successful projects result from our architects and engineers understanding the owner's viewpoint which is incorporated into the earliest planning documents and concept plans. We don't have or want a signature style; style and form result from the perspectives all parties bring to the project. GAA was created as a firm that would easily work across disciplines.

From the conceptual design phase through construction, our structural engineers are heavily involved in the design process to ensure the most economical structural systems are utilized and properly constructed.

We provide coordinated whole-building system design as well as standalone mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services. In new construction we integrate HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems to complement the architectural design while optimizing long-term building system performance.
