Services
A civil engineer designs cities. The oldest of the engineering professions, civil engineers originally designed forts, bridges, and roads for military applications, but later engineers applied their skills to address civilian needs. Civil engineers design our transportation network, provide safe drinking water and treat wastewater, protect society against the destructive power of Mother Nature, build tall structures, analyze groundwater and geotechnical conditions, dig canals, and construct dams and reservoirs.
An as-built as a record of drawings put together by the developer, contractor, or engineer for the local municipality after construction is complete. It shows all the improvements in their constructed locations with swing ties to reference monuments (i.e., surveying monuments, hydrants, light poles, manholes, etc.) that enable a municipality to locate the improvements in the future.
A developer or property owner may have a need to locate easements and rights-of-way across or through their property from time to time. An easement is a restriction placed on the use of the property allowing another entity use of the property for certain purposes. Easements can be anything from a utility company constructing and maintaining utilities across the property to restricting building heights or maintaining view corridors.
A boundary survey is the surveyor's professional opinion on the location of property lines of the subject land. The surveyor verifies the property corners to the recorded legal descriptions for the subject property as well as legal descriptions for adjacent properties and plats at the county courthouse, the monuments set in the field, and any structures indicating lines of possession like fences, walls, hedges, and yards.
