SEAOI is pleased to announce that as a part of the 2017 Strategic Plan, our organization has a re-vamped mission, vision & core values. To date, SEAOI has been operating under the SEAOI bylaws and utilizing a set of core values to help guide the main focus for our organization. As a part of the Strategic Planning process, a governance workgroup was formed to study if the SEAOI Core Values needed to be updated. The governance workgroup surveyed numerous different organizations and how they presented their organization's purpose, goals and values.
SEAOI boasts a membership of approximately 800 people and includes practicing structural engineers, professional engineers, EITs, students, and professionals in related industries. We are pleased to offer a variety of sponsorship and advertising opportunities for organizations in the structural engineering field.
The Structural Engineers Association of Illinois (SEAOI) was founded in 1965 by several practicing structural engineers including Frank Cooper, George Ellis, Nissim Eskenazi, Henry Miller, Ken Naslund, John Parmer, and Frank Wells, the first President. Those founders and others envisioned an organization that exchanged information specifically of interest to structural engineers practicing in the State of Illinois. They also wanted to reinforce their rights as defined in the Structural Engineering Practice Act.
SEAOI hosts seminars and workshops throughout the year to aid in meeting your continuing education requirements. SEAOI makes many of its continuing education classes available online in real time, and makes make recordings of selected presentations available for later viewing. Dinner meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at the Cliff Dwellers Club in Chicago.
