First Contact Engineering is a small group of engineers who are experts at developing high volume consumer and industrial wireless products. Just walk through any "big box" electronics store and you will see products we have developed. We are large enough to offer a full range of capabilities and small enough to be efficient and responsive. When you work with us you are in direct contact with one of our senior engineers, providing real time engineering support while you define your product requirements, develop prototypes and put your product into production.
Services
All of the skills and facilities for RF and wireless product design are in-house. Three labs with RF test equipment, modeling tools, machine shop and prototyping facilities. We can take a product from concept to production. We specialize in the prototyping and rapid development of highly-optimized software/firmware, allowing the use of lower-cost hardware while gaining the flexibility and maintainability.
The consumer electronics market continues to grow, outpacing almost every other retail market segment. Wireless products are leading this growth. Developing these products requires special attention to product cost and manufacturability. At First Contact we have been developing wireless consumer electronics for years and putting them into production for our clients. We have learned how to design successful products and how to transfer them to offshore manufacturing.
Increasingly, industry is adopting wireless protocols for monitoring and control of complex systems. These systems provide high reliability, low installation costs and rapid return on investment. Network protocols such as Zigbee and 802.15.4 provide ready-made solutions that can be quickly and effectively deployed to meet many applications.
Wireless audio is an exciting application combining wireless and high-end audio technologies. Our focus has been to apply digital communications engineering to distribution of audio in the home, car and commercial installations. FCE has developed many wireless audio products for different applications.
