Design Intelligence - Scott Spaulding Pe

I had the pleasure of working with Structural Engineer, Josh Wood. He developed New Construction - Residential Structural plans on a notably fast schedule. The building department requested a minor note to be added and Josh responded promptly. I appreciate his effort and time.

Design Intelligence is now designing a second home for us. Working with Josh on the first set of plans and the current set can be compared having dinner at a nice restaurant. Some other design firms are like getting fast food. The restaurant staff is attentive, asks what you want and carefully and properly prepares it, but there may be a little wait.

Fast food gives you a couple of choices and you hope what you ordered is in the bag as you leave the drive-thru. For our 2500sf+garage and now 7000+ four car garage homes Josh and his team have been great. He's very hands on and, while, at times, it may take him a day or so to get back to us, when he does he has answers to our questions and has the time to discuss whatever we, his client, need to understand.

We started the process with Josh over the phone, with scans of ideas, and emails. Then we had an in person meeting and he gave us his uninterrupted time until we conveyed our thoughts and ideas and felt he understood our design goals. Photos, our graph paper layouts, our verbal thoughts with him offering ideas and suggestions quickly turned into elevations that only required minor changes, and then could move onto engineering. We highly recommend him and his staff.

Design Intelligence in Rexburg was recommended by our builder. We worked with Josh to design plans for a new home. He was open to our ideas and made them a reality in the final design, including capturing both our wants and needs for room layout, space configuration and utility, exterior appearance, and elevation. He even took the time to discuss with us recommendations for modifications based on the location of our build. Design Intelligence and Josh exceeded our expectations. We would definitely work with them again in the future.

Josh Wood was recommended to us by Yellowstone Log Homes. It was reassuring to know that the engineer we chose was familiar with log home design. The 5th star would have been for excellent communication; we waited several days to hear back for an estimate and time schedule. But the work was completed on time and thus far no issues whatsoever with the plans. I would choose Design Intelligence again.

Called and emailed multiple times and could not even get a response. Absolutely unprofessional.

Josh was great to work with. He designed and completed a four car garage with an above the garage apartment and found a creative way to attach the garage to the house. Our first two exchanges of ideas were done remotely and we met in person for the third revision. Josh found a way to incorporate everything we hoped to add to our current 20 year old basic home. We were very pleased with his work and thoroughness on the project.

I could never get Josh to do anything. Cost me a year's delay in my roof construction project.

They took money out of my account with out permission and when I called the lady was very rude and didn't want to hear me!
