Bloom Companies, LLC was formed by Mathew Tharaniyil in May of 1998. Prior to founding Bloom, Mathew worked for the City of Milwaukee and played an integral role in the City's infrastructure design. When Bloom began operations, the primary focus of the company was to provide quality services for bridge and structural engineering. With the addition of qualified professionals, Bloom has been able to expand its service offerings. Today the company offers a wide range of engineering, architecture and construction management services to a wide variety of clients.

The Calhoun Road Reconstruction project was recognized as one of the Wisconsin Public Works Projects of the Year by the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Public Works Association. This nearly $15 million project consisted of reconstructing the existing two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane divided urban roadway and replace the overhead IH 94 bridges.
Safe and functional bridges are an integral component of an efficient transportation system. Structural deficiencies in many of the nation's older bridges have been revealed in recent years, bringing the importance of safe and quality design to the forefront of public discussion. The founder and president of Bloom Companies is a bridge design engineer by education and background.
Overseeing construction of such structures as highways, bridges, airports, dams and reservoirs requires knowledge of engineering and management principles, as well as business procedures, economics, and human behavior. After a structure has been designed, the construction engineer tests the design and oversees the construction.
